American Midwest Ballet had Halsey Onstage make a set of outfits for their production of The Wizard of Oz. Travis Halsey designed their Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Male Oz Citizens. For this project I built the Male Oz Citizens.

Pirate Captain Coat
Designed by Travis Halsey
Constructed by Jarod Lewis
This Pirate Captain Coat was for a production of Treasure Island. This was the first solo project that Travis had me do with limited guidance. The coat is made of a heavy suede and all the details were made by manipulating different trims. The skirt of the coat measured 15' and was for a performer who was roughly 6'4". It helped that Travis and the performer were the same height.

Erica Lull - American Ballet Theatre
Designed by Travis Halsey
Constructed by Jarod Lewis & Travis Halsey
This tutu was a special project for Erica Lull who performs with the American Ballet Theatre. The bodice is made of 4 ply silk, all of the colors were airbrushed on, all of the appliques have been hand sewn and we used swarovski crystals. Making sure everything was "just right" all threads were made sure to make the airbrushing.

Looking Glass Theater - Steadfast Tin Soldier
Tin Soldier Light up Suit & Non Light up Suit
Designed by Ana Kuzmanic & Travis Halsey
Constructed by Jarod Lewis & Intern Kendall Swendsen
Looking Glass Theatre had us remake their Tin Soldier Suit and Paper Doll Tutus, requesting matching pairs for each. One being able to light up and the other to stay unlit. For the Tin Soldier Suit I remade it using velour, patent leather, and neoprene. Everything had to handbasted so the machines could handle all the layers. With the light up suit we dismantled the existing suit's lighting mechanisms and rebuilt it from the ground up.

Looking Glass Theater - Steadfast Tin Soldier
Paper Doll Light up Tutu & Non Light up Tutu
Designed by Ana Kuzmanic & Travis Halsey
Constructed by Jarod Lewis & Intern Kendall Swendsen
Looking Glass Theatre had us remake their Tin Soldier Suit and Paper Doll Tutus, requesting matching pairs for each. One being able to light up and the other to stay unlit. For the Paper Doll I worked with Travis and Ana to make different silhouettes of the bodice as Kendall worked on the top plate. Travis redesigned Ana's original bodice creating a custom sublimated paper look. Once LED locations were marked and transferred to the show bodice buttonholes were made to let the light shine through. Lights were mounted on a removable lining so bodice could be cleaned.

Mouse Queen Bodice
Designed by Travis Halsey
Constructed by Jarod Lewis
This bodice was for a production of The Nutcracker Ballet in Texas. Instead of having a Mouse King they opted to have a Queen. Tutu was already created and a bodice needed to be produced.
